What we collect, why, and what you can do about it. Version 2026-10-20.
Who we are
You Decide Career, London, United Kingdom, runs You Decide The Career and is the controller of your data. Email [email protected] about anything on this page.
What we collect and why
- Waitlist: your email and, if you add it, your Instagram @. We use them to email you when Season Tickets go on sale. Lawful basis: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
- Season Tickets and boosts: your email, your Instagram @, your ticket number, what you paid and whether you chose to show your @. We use them to provide the ticket, put your @ on screen if you opted in, run Top Fans and deal with any problems with your order. Lawful basis: performing our contract with you, and keeping records the law requires.
- Showing your @ in the series and on Top Fans: only if you tick the box at checkout. You can ask us to remove it at any time; we'll take it off Top Fans straight away and out of any part not yet in production. Parts already published can't be re-edited.
- Pitchside applications: business name, your name, email, website or Instagram and your board text, to review the application and make the board. Lawful basis: taking steps towards a contract.
- Votes: we read public Instagram comments to count votes. We only keep the totals, not who voted for what.
We don't sell your data, and we don't use it for advertising or profiling.
Payments
Stripe processes payments. Card details go straight to Stripe; we never see or store your card number. Stripe's own privacy policy covers the data it handles.
Who else handles your data
- Our hosting provider runs the server the site and its database are on. Cloudflare sits in front of it for security and delivery.
- Stripe processes payments and sends receipts.
They may process data outside the UK. Where they do, they use the safeguards UK law requires, such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or an adequacy decision.
How long we keep it
- Waitlist: until Season Tickets go on sale and we've emailed you, or until you ask us to remove you.
- Season Tickets and boosts: for as long as Season 1 runs, then order records for 6 years for tax and accounting.
- Pitchside: declined applications are deleted within 12 months; agreed ones are kept as order records for 6 years.
Cookies
We don't use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies. The site only stores what it needs to work. Stripe sets its own cookies on its checkout page.
Under 18s
Anyone can join the waitlist from age 13. Purchases must be made by someone 18 or over. If you're under 13, please don't send us your details.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete your data, object to how we use it, ask us to limit it, or ask for a copy to take elsewhere. Email [email protected]; we reply within one month. If you're unhappy with our answer, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
